Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop add AI features that do hours of design work in minutes

Adobe is introducing new AI features for Photoshop and Illustrator, aiming to enhance the design process and provide users with more control and variety. The Generative Shape Fill feature uses Adobe's Firefly generative AI models to quickly generate detailed vector graphics based on text prompts. For instance, a graphic designer can create a new logo for a tech startup by using this feature to generate complex vector patterns and shapes. The Text to Pattern option converts text prompts into scalable vector patterns, while the Style Reference feature takes uploaded images as inspiration for Adobe's AI creation. Photoshop-specific AI features include the Selection Brush Tool and Adjustment Brush Tool, which streamline repetitive tasks necessary for editing images. The Dimension tool can make precise sizing measurements, and the Mockup feature can produce visual prototypes that fit the curves and edges of real-life objects. Despite the advancements, Adobe is still navigating the ethical debate over how its Firefly AI models get trained and the larger conflict over synthetic media.
