Amazon Bedrock AgentCore now offers unified observability for AI agents. Previously, agent telemetry was split between separate log groups for traces and event logs, complicating debugging. This new feature consolidates all agent telemetry into a single Amazon CloudWatch log group per agent. This includes traces, prompts, inputs, outputs, structured logs, and standard output. Unified observability allows for easier correlation of traces and logs, simplifying debugging for individual agents and multi-agent systems. It also enables fine-grained access control and customer-managed key encryption at the individual agent level. Newly created agents in supported regions will use unified observability by default from July 20, 2026. For existing agents, enabling this feature requires setting an environment variable and upgrading the AWS Distro for OpenTelemetry (ADOT).
