Amazon DCV 2026.0 has been released, enhancing its remote display protocol capabilities. This new version introduces support for RHEL 10, Rocky Linux 10, CentOS 10, and Ubuntu 26.04. A brand new macOS client is now available, alongside updated Windows and Linux clients. The update brings support for modern Wayland display servers on Linux hosts and sessions. Users can now benefit from URL redirection, allowing remote session links to open in local browsers. Printer preferences redirection on Windows is also included, granting access to client-side printer settings. Significant performance improvements have been implemented, such as H.264 frame slice support and multithreaded decoding. These optimizations aim to reduce latency for Linux and macOS clients. The release also adds support for newer macOS server versions on Amazon EC2 instances. These advancements make Amazon DCV a more versatile and efficient tool for secure remote access.
