Amazon EC2 C8gd, M8gd and R8gd instances are now available in additional AWS Regions
Amazon EC2 C8gd, M8gd, and R8gd instances, featuring substantial local NVMe SSD storage, have expanded their availability to new AWS regions. C8gd instances are now accessible in Asia Pacific (Singapore), M8gd in Mexico (Central) and Asia Pacific (Melbourne), and R8gd in Europe (Zurich). These instances are powered by the latest AWS Graviton4 processors, offering significant performance improvements over their Graviton3 predecessors. They deliver enhanced performance for I/O intensive database and real-time data analytics workloads, resulting in faster query times. Built on the AWS Nitro System, these instances are designed for applications demanding high-speed, low-latency local storage. Each instance type comes in twelve different sizes and provides robust network and Amazon EBS bandwidth. Customers can now fine-tune network and Amazon EBS bandwidth allocation with EC2 instance bandwidth weighting for optimized performance. Specific larger sizes of these instances support Elastic Fabric Adapter (EFA) networking. C8gd instances are suited for compute-intensive tasks, M8gd for balanced workloads like application servers, and R8gd for memory-intensive applications such as in-memory databases.
