Amazon EKS and Amazon EKS Distro now support Kubernetes version 1.37
Amazon EKS now supports Kubernetes version 1.37, allowing users to create new clusters or upgrade existing ones. This update also extends to Amazon EKS Distro. Kubernetes 1.37's Metrics API is now generally available, providing essential resource usage data. Dynamic Resource Allocation device taints and tolerations have also reached general availability. The Horizontal Pod Autoscaler's scale-to-zero functionality is now in beta and enabled by default. This feature allows workloads to scale down to zero pods when idle and back up as needed. EKS offers this support across all available AWS Regions, including GovCloud. Detailed information and upgrade instructions are available in the EKS documentation. Users can also utilize EKS cluster insights to proactively identify potential upgrade issues. EKS Distro builds of Kubernetes 1.37 can be accessed via ECR Public Gallery and GitHub.
