Amazon launches cellular dongle to provide backup connectivity for eero routers

Amazon unveiled the eero Signal at IFA 2025, a cellular backup for home internet outages. It connects to USB-C-powered eero devices with Wi-Fi 6 or higher. Two versions are available: a $100 4G LTE model and a $200 5G model. eero Signal uses a built-in multi-carrier eSIM for automatic connection during outages. The device automatically switches back to home internet when service is restored. Signal is not a standalone device; it requires a primary internet connection. It functions only in a single location, providing backup connectivity. An annual eero Plus subscription is required for functionality, costing $99 per year. This subscription includes VPN, antivirus, password management, and 10GB of backup data. A premium plan with 100GB of data is available for $200 annually.
