Amazon to bring same-day prescription deliveries to nearly half of the US next year

Amazon is expanding its same-day prescription delivery service to 20 more cities and affiliated metro areas next year. This expansion will make the feature available to nearly half of US residents. The company is embedding pharmacies in its same-day delivery facilities to facilitate the rollout. The service is currently available in cities like Miami, Phoenix, and Seattle. Next year, it will be available in Boston, Dallas, Minneapolis, Philadelphia, and around a dozen more cities. Amazon Pharmacy allows customers to order medication by 4PM and receive it by 10PM in most cases. The service is available to Prime members with free shipments of prescriptions. Amazon launched its pharmacy service in 2020, marking its entry into the healthcare space. The company also operates a virtual healthcare service available in all 50 states. Amazon has doubled the number of customers it delivers prescriptions to and expects this number to increase further with the upcoming expansion.
