Netflix has released a blooper reel from the first season of its live-action series Avatar: The Last Airbender, giving fans a glimpse of the behind-the-scenes antics while they wait for the next season. The first season was released a year ago, and Netflix has announced that the show has been renewed for two more seasons, with the third season being the last. Production for the second season is currently underway, but there is no release date yet. The live-action series is a reimagining of the acclaimed Nickelodeon animated series, and the executive producers have stated that the show will grow and mature just like the animated series. Meanwhile, Nickelodeon has ordered a new 26-episode, 2D-animated series called Avatar: Seven Havens, which is set in a world shattered by a devastating cataclysm. The new series follows a young Earthbender who discovers she is the new Avatar, but is hunted by human and spirit enemies. The original series creators, Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, are involved in the new animated series, but had previously left the live-action series adaptation due to creative differences. DiMartino and Konietzko have expressed their excitement about expanding the world of Avatar decades after the original series was created. In addition to the new animated series, a live-action film based on the original series is also in the works, with a release date set for January 30, 2026. The film will feature a voice cast that includes Dave Bautista, Dionne Quan, and Jessica Matten, among others.
