Announcing Claude 3.7 Sonnet, Anthropic’s first hybrid reasoning model, is available on Vertex AI

Anthropic has released Claude 3.7 Sonnet, a hybrid reasoning model that combines rapid responses and step-by-step thinking, available in preview on Vertex AI Model Garden. This model is optimized for real-world use cases and includes improvements in coding. Claude 3.7 Sonnet can produce quick responses or extended thinking, making it visible to the user. Vertex AI support for Anthropic's new agentic coding tool, Claude Code, has also been announced. Claude Code allows developers to delegate coding tasks to Claude directly from their terminal. Vertex AI provides a unified platform for building and deploying AI applications, offering advanced development tools and enterprise-grade reliability. With Vertex AI, users can confidently deploy agents in production, optimize performance, and accelerate development. Additional features, such as count tokens, citations, batch predictions, and prompt caching, are available to enhance interaction and deployment of Claude models on Vertex AI. Several companies, including AES, Palo Alto Networks, Quora, and Replit, are already using Claude on Vertex AI to drive business results. To get started, users can select the Claude 3.7 Sonnet model card in Vertex AI Model Garden and follow the instructions.
