Microsoft has launched the Mbsv4 and Mbdsv4 virtual machine series in public preview. These new VM families are designed to offer enhanced storage efficiency and platform capabilities. They are powered by the latest Intel Xeon Scalable processors and Azure Boost technologies. The Mbsv4 series is memory-optimized, while the Mbdsv4 series is storage-optimized. These VMs provide significant improvements in remote disk IOPS and bandwidth compared to previous M-series generations. They are ideal for data-intensive and performance-critical workloads like databases and analytics. The new series also boasts dramatically improved local NVMe temp disk performance. Enhanced security features like Total Memory Encryption and Trusted Launch are included for sensitive workloads. The VMs are available in both disk and diskless configurations for flexibility. They are currently in public preview and available in East US 2 and East US regions.
