Anthropic Adds Free Memory Feature and Import Tool to Lure ChatGPT Users to Claude

This enables free users to migrate their preferences and historical context seamlessly. Users can export their existing AI data using a specific prompt designed for other chatbots. The exported information is then copied and pasted into Claude's memory input box. Claude's memory feature was previously exclusive to paid subscribers, but it's now accessible to free users. This move aims to attract users by offering a more convenient transition process. They can now also utilize features like compaction, file creation, connectors, and skills. Anthropic is also capitalizing on ChatGPT's ad implementation making Claude ad-free. This announcement follows Anthropic's recent issues with the U.S. government regarding AI usage. As a result, Claude has become the top free iOS app, surpassing ChatGPT. This strategy is part of Anthropic's effort to gain a competitive edge in the AI market.
