Anyone can now download Tesla's iOS Robotaxi app, but there's still a waitlist
Tesla has released its iOS Robotaxi app, allowing all iPhone users to download it and join a waitlist. This expansion marks a broader rollout of the service after initial early access. Currently, Tesla's robotaxis are exclusively available in Austin, Texas, while an Android app is still under development. Joining the waitlist does not guarantee immediate access to the Robotaxi service. Some users have reported gaining access within a few hours of joining the waitlist. Tesla launched its Cybercab robotaxi fleet in Austin back in June. The company also offers rides in the Bay Area, but with human drivers, which is not a full autonomous service. Tesla has not yet received permission to fully operate robotaxis in California. However, it is allowed to test robotaxi rides there with safety drivers.
