Apple has unveiled a new family of displays designed for Mac users, from casual to professional. The updated Studio Display features a 12MP Center Stage camera with image improvements and Desk View, along with a studio-quality microphone array and Spatial Audio. It also includes Thunderbolt 5 connectivity for faster accessory connections and daisy-chaining displays. The new Studio Display XDR boasts a 27-inch 5K Retina XDR display with mini-LED backlighting, offering stunning contrast and vibrancy. The XDR model provides up to 1000 nits SDR brightness and 2000 nits peak HDR brightness, plus a 120Hz refresh rate with Adaptive Sync. Both displays share the same advanced camera and audio systems, and Thunderbolt 5 support. The Studio Display with tilt-adjustable stand starts at $1,599 while the Studio Display XDR with tilt- and height-adjustable stand starts at $3,299. Pre-orders begin March 4, with availability starting March 11, and both displays come in standard or nano-texture glass options. The Studio Display XDR replaces the Pro Display XDR. The writer notes their current Studio Display is sufficient for their needs.
