Tim Cook visited Shanghai to promote the iPhone Air launch in China. He met Kasing Lung, the creator of the popular Labubu character, who demonstrated iPad Pro sketching. Lung gifted Cook a custom Labubu figurine resembling him, complete with an iPhone 17. Cook reciprocated by saying Labubu now owns an iPhone 17 Pro in Cosmic Orange. Cook also visited the Apple Pudong store and met with the AFK Journey game developers. He observed the filming of Wang Feifei's music video using an iPhone 17 Pro. The iPhone Air launch in China on October 22 follows preorders starting October 17. The iPhone Air was delayed due to regulatory approvals needed because it lacks a physical SIM. At 5.6mm, it's too thin and the first eSIM-only iPhone in China.
