Apple is actively limiting the spread of leaked iPhone 18 Pro video footage following a cyberattack on Tata Electronics, a manufacturing partner. Video clips, appearing to show an iPhone 18 Pro undergoing drop testing, surfaced on X, showcasing a uniform silver-gray design. The device featured the expected three-camera array with more protruding lenses and a reflective Apple logo. The initial posts, shared by an @EvLeaks account and reposted by Ice Universe, were removed by X for violating platform rules, and the @EvLeaks account was suspended. Evan Blass, formerly associated with EvLeaks, denied involvement. It is unclear if Apple or Tata requested the removals, or if the videos were deemed fake. Ice Universe claimed Apple “banned the leaked data on Twitter.” Although Apple has not commented, the videos seemed genuine based on Reuters' similar descriptions. This follows Reuters' report of Apple’s concern over confidential files stolen from Tata Electronics and circulated on the dark web. The swift takedowns indicate aggressive action from Apple to prevent further data breach spread. However, the videos could also have originated from an impersonating, suspended X account and were later deemed fake.
