Apple has ceased production of its Pro Display XDR, a 32-inch monitor released in 2019. This marked Apple's return to the premium external monitor market after a three-year absence. The Pro Display XDR, priced at $4,999, gained attention for its separately sold $999 Pro Stand. Apple's new Studio Display XDR replaces the Pro Display XDR. The Studio Display XDR features a 27-inch 5K display with mini-LED technology. It boasts a high refresh rate and Thunderbolt 5 connectivity. Although smaller and more affordable, it offers updated display technology. The new display will start at $3,299 or $3,599 with nano-texture glass. Pre-orders begin March 4, with availability starting March 11. The shift reflects Apple's embrace of more accessible, updated monitor technology.
