Apple Ends Service Programs for Sound Issues on Original AirPods Pro and iPhone 12 and 12 Pro

Apple has discontinued service programs for the original AirPods Pro and iPhone 12 models due to their age. The AirPods Pro program addressed sound issues like crackling or ANC problems in first-generation models made before October 2020. Apple would replace faulty earbuds after verification through testing. This AirPods Pro program began in October 2020 and was extended to three years of coverage. The iPhone 12 and 12 Pro program targeted a defective receiver module that caused no sound during calls. Devices manufactured between October 2020 and April 2021 were covered, but not the mini or Pro Max versions. The iPhone 12 program also started with two years of coverage, extended to three years later. The vast majority of eligible devices are now outside the covered timeframe. These service programs provided free repairs for specific hardware defects. Apple is no longer offering these free repair services, signifying the programs' end.
