Apple's new HomeView smart home hub will come with a selection of built-in Apple applications. These pre-installed apps include Alarms, Calendar, FaceTime, Find My, Home, Intercom, Messages, Music, Podcasts, Reminders, Safari, Settings, Timers, Weather, and World Clock. The device will not feature an App Store for downloading additional applications. However, HomeView can project certain CarPlay-enabled audio and video apps from a connected iPhone. Supported CarPlay apps include Apple Music Classical, Apple News, Apple TV, and Audiobooks. It will also support third-party apps like Spotify for audio and video streaming. The Apple Developer Program agreement has been updated to reflect the inclusion of these CarPlay apps and widgets. The HomeView is currently available for pre-order. It is scheduled to be released on Friday, November 13. This new smart home hub aims to integrate further into Apple's ecosystem.
