Apple HomeView Includes Temperature and Humidity Sensors
Apple's new HomeView smart home hub features integrated temperature and humidity sensors. These sensors allow HomeView to monitor indoor environmental conditions. The readings can be supplied to new thermostats developed in partnership with LG Electronics and Schneider Electric. Both tabletop and wall-mounted HomeView models include these sensors, alongside ambient light and accelerometer sensors. However, the sensors are optimized for indoor domestic use within specific temperature and humidity ranges. Accuracy may be affected by prolonged high-volume audio playback. The sensors also require an initial calibration period after startup. The new thermostats can leverage readings from HomeView, HomePod, HomePod mini, and dedicated sensors. They also support Adaptive Temperature technology for intelligent adjustments. The individual sensors will be priced at $39.95, thermostats at $199.95, and HomeView models at $299, with a November 13 launch date.
