Apple HomeView

Apple has unveiled Apple HomeView, a new device designed to be a central hub for the home. It features a 7-inch Liquid Retina display and integrates entertainment, communication, and smart home management. HomeView allows users to play music, make FaceTime calls, monitor their home, and control automations using voice commands. Privacy and security are core to its design, with the device recognizing users by their faces to personalize their experience. This personalization extends to accessing content from Messages, FaceTime, Calendar, Reminders, and Find My. HomeView incorporates a new, more capable Siri AI with enhanced world knowledge and onscreen awareness. When linked with an Apple Intelligence-enabled device, it can leverage personal context from apps for more helpful responses. User recognition, either by face or voice, requires a registered personal device like an iPhone or iPad. This device must support Apple Intelligence and Siri AI, be on the home's Wi-Fi, and have been recently unlocked. HomeView does not use Face ID for recognition, relying instead on this multi-factor approach involving a personal device to ensure secure user identification.
