Apple is bringing its built-in image and PDF viewer, Preview, to the iPad with iPadOS 26. Preview will come preinstalled on iPads and allow users to view and edit documents and images using Apple Pencil Markup. Users can annotate and edit PDFs and images with Apple Pencil, and touch will also work if no Apple Pencil is available. Preview will have direct access to compatible documents and pictures in the Files folder. The app will also support filling out PDF forms with AutoFill. Once edits are complete, Preview can export files in various formats and sizes. Apple announced this feature at WWDC 2025, where it unveiled new software features across mobile and desktop devices. AI integration was a major focus at the developer conference, along with a UI redesign that unifies all OS versions across Apple devices. The redesign brings a consistent look and feel to all Apple devices. Overall, the new Preview app on iPad will offer a range of features for editing and annotating documents and images.
