This integration uses Apple's new MapKit for Automotive SDK, allowing Ford to embed Apple Maps directly into vehicle displays while customizing the experience. Drivers will receive turn-by-turn directions, real-time traffic, and intelligent EV routing with battery preconditioning. The mapping data will also support Ford's enhanced BlueCruise hands-free highway driving capability. This SDK pushes Apple deeper into the automotive space beyond CarPlay, giving automakers native access to Apple's mapping data.
