Apple Music Has a Hidden iPod You Can Play With
Apple Music features a hidden 404 page that displays a functional, clickable iPod simulation when a non-existent page is loaded. This interactive element appears on the Apple Music website, not within the app itself. Users can access this by attempting to navigate to a broken URL, such as music.apple.com/macrumors. A specific URL, music.apple.com/ipod, also triggers a related "Looking for something?" message. To view this feature in a browser and prevent redirection to the app, users should use specific key combinations on Mac or iOS devices. The simulated iPod allows interaction with its click wheel and offers 90-second previews of songs by various popular artists. An embedded easter egg within the iPod simulation allows users to play the classic game Breakout. This hidden game pays homage to Apple's co-founders, Steve Wozniak and Steve Jobs, who contributed to the original Breakout game. These easter eggs were discovered on the 25th anniversary of the iPod's initial announcement. The iPod line was officially concluded with the discontinuation of the iPod touch in 2022.
