Apple Now Selling Parts for Seven New Devices Unveiled Last Month

Apple has expanded its self-service repair program, offering genuine parts and tools for seven new devices. This program, launched in 2022, is designed for experienced individuals capable of complex electronic repairs. Customers in the U.S., Canada, and many European countries can now access these resources. The newly supported devices include the iPhone 17e, iPad Air with M4, MacBook Neo, MacBook Air with M5, MacBook Pro with M5 Pro and M5 Max chips, the 2026 Studio Display, and the Studio Display XDR. Following Apple's repair manuals guides users through the process. A significant update is the ability to replace the MacBook Neo's keyboard independently. Previously, MacBook keyboards required replacing the entire Top Case, a much more involved and costly procedure. The MacBook Neo offers separate parts for the keyboard, keyboard with Touch ID, and the Top Case. This individual keyboard replacement, despite still involving numerous screws, is considerably simpler. Furthermore, the MacBook Neo's standalone keyboard part is priced significantly lower, starting at $140 in the U.S., compared to the $400-$600 cost of Top Case replacements for other MacBook models.
