Apple has released the eighth beta of macOS Golden Gate to developers, following last week's seventh beta. Developers can access this update through System Settings > General > Software Update, provided they have beta updates enabled and a developer account. The new macOS version features several design enhancements, including improved Liquid Glass opacity for better readability and a transparency slider. Shadowing has also been adjusted to clearly indicate active windows. Apps will now exhibit uniform toolbars, edge-to-edge sidebars, and less rounded corners, with a reduced number of menu bar icons. Siri has been significantly upgraded to Siri AI, a chatbot that leverages world knowledge, personal data, and screen awareness. This enhanced Siri integrates into Spotlight and offers a new Search or Ask interface. A dedicated Siri app allows for chat-based interactions and conversation history. Newer Macs offer custom voice options for Siri, including personalized pace and expressivity. Visual Intelligence enables Siri to answer questions about on-screen content, and Write with Siri assists with text generation and feedback. The update also introduces AI-powered photo editing tools in the Photos app. Safari gains AI tab organization, and the Passwords app can utilize AI for automatic weak password updates. Finally, the Image Playground app has been revamped to generate photorealistic images.
