Apple Releases New AirPods Beta Firmware With iOS 27 Features
Apple has released the fifth beta firmware for its AirPods Pro 2, AirPods Pro 3, AirPods 4, and AirPods Max 2. This beta firmware is accessible to both developers and public testers. The new firmware, with build number 9A5347a, enables support for features introduced in iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and macOS Golden Gate. These new features include a revamped AirPods interface, a slider for Adaptive mode, and custom EQ settings. Additionally, the AirPods will now be compatible with the new Siri AI. To access beta firmware, users must connect their AirPods to an Apple device running iOS 26, iPadOS 26, or macOS 26 or later. Within the AirPods settings, users can then toggle on beta updates to install the new firmware. Firmware updates are automatically downloaded when AirPods are connected to an Apple device and plugged into a power source. The installation process can take several hours, as there is no manual update option.
