Apple Releases New Vision Pro Developer Strap

Apple has launched a new Developer Strap for the Vision Pro, coinciding with the release of the Vision Pro with an M5 chip. This second-generation Developer Strap significantly improves data transfer speeds, reaching up to 20 Gbps compared to the original's 480 Mbps. The design remains largely unchanged, retaining the audio functionality of the Right Audio Strap. Availability is limited to Apple Developer Program members in Vision Pro-selling countries. The price in the US remains at $299. The new strap is compatible with both the original Vision Pro (M2 chip) and the updated model (M5 chip). Apple originally released the Developer Strap in February 2024. The strap provides a USB-C connection for app development and diagnostics. Information is not given regarding whether old Vision Pro's with the M2 chip transfer faster with the new strap. The new strap is available for order through Apple’s developer website.
