Apple Reportedly Aiming to Upgrade the MacBook Pro Twice This Year

Apple is poised to launch new Mac models in the first half of this year, according to recent reports. These include updated MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, Mac Studio, and Studio Display models. The MacBook Pro is expected to receive upgrades with M5 chips soon, as well as a major redesign planned for late 2026. This future redesign may include an OLED touch screen and cellular connectivity, representing a significant change. Precedent exists for this approach, as Apple previously released two MacBook Pro updates in a single year. The MacBook Air is anticipated to get the M5 chip, while the Mac Studio is expected with higher-end M5 Max and M5 Ultra chips. A new Studio Display model is also rumored, with features like mini-LED backlighting and ProMotion. Apple also plans a lower-cost MacBook with an iPhone chip and an updated Mac mini this year. The lower-cost MacBook will likely use a variant of the A18 Pro chip.
