India has surpassed China as the leading source of smartphones sold in the US, with India accounting for 44% of the market in the June quarter. This shift is largely attributed to Apple increasing its iPhone assembly in India, causing the volume of made-in-India devices to more than triple year-on-year. Vietnam secured the second position, while China's market share significantly decreased from over 60% to 25%. Smartphone manufacturers are reportedly increasing inventory in anticipation of potential tariffs, contributing to these market realignments.
