Apple intends to eventually release an updated version of its larger HomePod speaker. This commitment to the full-sized HomePod, discontinued in 2021 and revived in 2023, was briefly mentioned by Bloomberg's Mark Gurman. While a new HomePod mini, Apple TV 4K, and a smart home hub are expected soon, a new full-sized HomePod is not anticipated at this immediate announcement. A significant new feature for a future larger HomePod will likely be support for a more intelligent Siri AI. This advanced Siri integration would necessitate a faster chip than the current model's S7 chip. Potential upgrades include enhanced audio quality and new color choices. It is also possible the updated model will feature Apple's N1 chip with support for Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6. The larger HomePod serves a niche market, particularly appealing to Apple users with home theater systems. A pair of these speakers can function as default audio for an Apple TV 4K, enabling stereo sound. Notably, Apple recently increased the price of the current full-sized HomePod to $349 in the U.S.
