Apple Stores Temporarily Closed in the United Arab Emirates

Apple has temporarily closed all five of its retail stores in the United Arab Emirates. The closures include three stores in Abu Dhabi and two in Dubai, including locations at the Dubai Mall and Mall of the Emirates. The stores are slated to remain closed through at least Tuesday, March 3rd, according to Apple's website announcements. This closure aligns with the UAE government's recommendation for private sector businesses to avoid worker presence in open areas. The closures are occurring amidst escalating tensions in the Middle East. A sign at the Dubai Mall store says it will be closed "until further notice". The other closed stores are located at Yas Mall, Al Jimi Mall, and Al Maryah Island. Apple's internal reason for the closure is a "safety situation," according to a source. Apple did not provide a comment regarding the situation.
