Apple TV and HomePod Just Went Up in Price Amid Wait for New Models
Apple has implemented worldwide price increases across its Apple TV, HomePod, and HomePod mini product lines. These price hikes are attributed to significant increases in component costs, particularly for RAM and SSD storage, driven by a global chip shortage. Despite these increases, none of these devices have received hardware updates in several years, with the current models being between three and six years old. However, all three are anticipated to be updated later this year. These future updates are expected to include support for a more intelligent version of Siri. The next Apple TV is rumored to feature an A17 Pro chip and Apple's N1 chip for advanced connectivity. While no major design changes are expected for the Apple TV itself, its Siri Remote might receive a refresh. The HomePod mini is rumored to get an S9 chip or newer, along with potential improvements in sound quality and a new color option. The company is also reportedly planning to release an entirely new smart home hub.
