Apple Vision Pro Just Got Even More Expensive
Apple has increased the price of its Vision Pro headset to $3,699, an increase from its previous $3,499 starting price. This change is part of a broader wave of price hikes across Apple's product range. Many other devices, including various iPads and Macs, also saw price adjustments. However, iPhones and AirPods remained unaffected by these increases. The Vision Pro's initial high price was already a significant hurdle for widespread adoption. The current price increase further widens the gap between the Vision Pro and competitors. For instance, Meta's Quest 3 is priced significantly lower. This price disparity has led to the Vision Pro holding a small market share in the XR industry. Apple CEO Tim Cook attributed these price adjustments to rising costs of memory and storage chips. These broader industry cost issues have made price increases unavoidable for Apple.
