Apple's Free Satellite Features on iPhone Available in These Countries
Apple is expanding its Emergency SOS via satellite feature to Mexico later this year. This service, along with Find My, Messages, and Roadside Assistance via satellite, is available on all iPhone 14 models and newer. These satellite features function in areas lacking Wi-Fi or cellular coverage. Users can access them through Control Center, which launches Apple's Connection Assistant. Currently, Apple is not charging for these satellite services. Existing iPhone 14 and 15 users will receive an additional year of free access to all satellite features. Emergency SOS via satellite is available in numerous countries, including Australia, Canada, Germany, and the U.K. Find My via satellite is also widely available, mirroring many of Emergency SOS locations. Messages via satellite is currently limited to Canada, Mexico, and the U.S. Roadside Assistance via satellite is available in Australia, the U.K., and the U.S. International travelers can use these features abroad, unless their iPhone was purchased in specific countries like China or Russia.
