Apple's M5 MacBook Pro Imminent: What to Expect
Apple is expected to launch a new MacBook Pro soon, potentially as early as tomorrow. The primary upgrade will be the M5 chip, succeeding the M4, offering improved speed and efficiency due to its advanced 3-nanometer process. While leaked benchmarks show performance gains on an M5 iPad Pro, the MacBook Pro's M5 chip may feature a 10-core CPU. Design changes are unlikely, although a new dark blue color option is possible, mirroring the upcoming iPhone. Other potential updates, like an upgraded front-facing camera or Wi-Fi 7 support, are uncertain. Initially, only the base 14-inch model is expected to receive the M5 update, with Pro and Max versions delayed until 2026. Upgrading in 2025 may not be ideal, as future models are anticipated to feature OLED displays and a new design along with an M6 chip. The imminent launch was hinted at by Apple's marketing chief.
