Apple's Wall-Mounted HomeView ... Note

Apple's Wall-Mounted HomeView Ships Without a Power Adapter

Apple's new HomeView smart home hub will ship with different accessory inclusions based on the model. The tabletop HomeView includes a 30W USB-C power adapter and a cable. In contrast, the wall-mounted HomeView will be sold without any power adapter, cable, or mounting hardware. Customers purchasing the wall-mounted version must acquire compatible accessories separately. The tabletop model needs a 30W adapter, while the wall-mounted version requires at least 20W. Powering the wall-mounted unit can be done through a separate adapter and cable or a hardwired connection. Failure to meet power requirements will result in an error message on the device. Apple advises testing the wall-mounted unit directly with a separate adapter and cable if issues arise. If it then functions correctly, customers should contact their mount manufacturer or installer. The HomeView features a 7-inch display, an A18 chip, and Siri, and pre-orders are open for $299.
