AWS PrivateLink has introduced native cross-region connectivity, allowing Interface VPC endpoints to connect to VPC endpoint services in different AWS Regions within the same AWS partition. Previously, Interface VPC endpoints only supported connectivity within the same region. This feature enables service providers to offer access to their VPC endpoint services to customers in all existing and upcoming AWS Regions without additional infrastructure setup. Service consumers can privately connect to VPC endpoint services in other regions without cross-region peering or exposing data over the public internet. Cross-region enabled VPC endpoint services can be accessed through Interface endpoints at a private IP address in the VPC, simplifying and securing inter-region connectivity. The feature is available in several regions, including US East, US West, Europe, Asia Pacific, South America, and Asia Pacific. Pricing details can be found on the AWS PrivateLink pricing page. This capability enables more flexible and secure connectivity between regions. To learn more, users can visit the AWS PrivateLink section in the Amazon VPC Developer Guide. Overall, this feature enhances the functionality and convenience of AWS PrivateLink for both service providers and consumers.
