I attended AWS re:Invent 2024 in Las Vegas, and it was an amazing experience. My first 'proper' re:Invent experience was enhanced by being an AWS Community Builder and AWS User Group Leader, which gave me more structure to the event. I met with fellow AWS Community peers, including AWS Heroes, and we had a great time networking and sharing experiences. I attended various sessions, including the keynote by Matt Garman, which included 31 announcements. I volunteered at the Community Village, spreading the word about AWS Community programs, and I also attended the AWS Community Builder Mixer Party, where I met more AWS Heroes and former LogiCast guests. I collected lots of swag, including a customised hoodie, water bottle, flight organiser, AWS Community Builder long-sleeved t-shirt, insulated water bottle, and a slick AWS bomber jacket. I also met AWS Chief Evangelist Jeff Barr and got his exclusive AWS Builder Card. I carried 20 sets of AWS Builder Cards back to the Expo hall for the AWS Brighton User Group, and I even met more LogiCast fans. Overall, re:Invent was a fantastic week, and I recommend getting involved with the AWS Community to make the most out of the event.
