AWS Transform adds new agentic AI capabilities for enterprise VMware migrations

AWS Transform now offers enhanced agentic AI to automate VMware migrations to AWS. This AI agent partners with migration teams to grasp business needs and intelligently orchestrate the transfer of numerous applications and servers. It discovers on-premises environments and prioritizes migrations by analyzing infrastructure, databases, applications, and dependencies. The agent generates comprehensive migration plans based on business and technical priorities. It creates flexible network configurations, including hub-and-spoke models and isolated setups, and supports various IP address management strategies. Migrations can be deployed across multiple AWS accounts and landing zones, leveraging data from diverse discovery tools and unstructured sources. The agent securely migrates servers in iterative waves, providing transparent progress updates throughout the process. It supports a wide range of server types, including Windows and Linux x86, and various hypervisors and bare-metal environments. Users can interact with the agent to ask questions and guide migration decisions, including adjusting plans as needed. A detailed report is generated to facilitate internal approvals, outlining the migration plan and associated mappings. These new capabilities aim to accelerate value realization, mitigate risks, and simplify complex VMware migrations, and are accessible across all AWS Transform regions.
