AWS Transform for full-stack Windows modernization now supports Aurora PostgreSQL cross-region deployment in 7 more Regions
AWS Transform for full-stack Windows modernization now supports cross-region deployment of converted Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL databases. This enhancement is available in seven new AWS Regions, broadening customer options. Customers can now specify a different AWS Region for their modernized Aurora PostgreSQL databases during the transformation process. This feature directly addresses data residency, latency, and disaster recovery needs. The process involves uploading SQL Server DDL files and defining a target AWS Region in the transformation plan. This also makes dependent .NET applications compatible with PostgreSQL by updating connection strings and data-access calls. The service now operates in US East (N. Virginia), Europe (Frankfurt), Europe (London), Asia Pacific (Mumbai), Asia Pacific (Seoul), Asia Pacific (Tokyo), Asia Pacific (Sydney), and Canada (Montreal). This expansion provides greater control over database deployment locations. It aims to simplify the modernization of full-stack Windows applications and their associated SQL Server databases. More information is available on the AWS Transform product page and documentation.
