Azure is expanding the availability of Azure Database Migration Service (DMS) to facilitate database migrations to Azure. This expansion helps customers meet data residency, compliance, and performance needs. DMS is now generally available in Indonesia Central, Mexico Central, Poland Central, and Spain Central. This expansion allows users to migrate SQL Server databases from more locations. Customers can leverage Azure's security, reliability, and compliance features. This expansion aids in accelerating cloud adoption for SQL Server and other database workloads. DMS simplifies and automates database migrations to Azure, minimizing downtime. Supported migration scenarios include migrations to SQL Server on Azure VM, Azure SQL Managed Instance, and Azure SQL Database. More information on supported scenarios is available in the documentation. Microsoft is continually expanding DMS to additional regions to support a global user base.
