Behold the Prohibited Marios of Nintendo's internal illustration manual

Uploaded to the Internet Archive a few weeks back was Nintendo's Mario Family Illustration Manual, providing strict guidance to the company's internal designers and marketers not to mess with official illustrations of Mario and other characters. The company's reputation for stiff brand management notwithstanding, it's standard corporate fare made interesting mostly for its depictions of Prohibited Marios.
