The Bell Works building in Holmdel, New Jersey, was a hub for technological innovation and is now a modern office and retail space. The 2-million-square-foot building was constructed between 1959 and 1962 and features a glass exterior. It was one of the last projects designed by Finnish-American architect Eero Saarinen, who also designed the elaborate landscaping. The building originally hosted Bell Laboratories' research division of AT&T and employed thousands of engineers and researchers. One notable employee was Steven Chu, who won a Nobel Prize for his work in laser cooling. The building was once known as "The Biggest Mirror Ever" due to its reflective glass exterior. Today, the building serves as a filming location for the Apple TV+ series Severance, with its exterior serving as the fictional company Lumon's headquarters. The show also features the building's entrance, parking lot, and skylit atrium. Despite its use as a filming location, the building is still a functional office and retail space. The people who work in the complex today are free to come and go as they please, unlike the characters in Severance.
