Binance, KuCoin, MEXC report service issues due to AWS network interruption

A major Amazon Web Services (AWS) data center outage caused significant service disruptions across multiple cryptocurrency exchanges. Binance, KuCoin, and MEXC were among the exchanges experiencing connectivity issues and order failures. AWS acknowledged the problem, reporting connectivity issues affecting at least twelve services. Binance and other affected exchanges confirmed the AWS outage as the cause of their service interruptions. While some services were temporarily unavailable, user assets remained secure, according to affected exchanges. The outage impacted at least eight exchanges, highlighting the reliance on centralized infrastructure providers. The incident underscores the vulnerability of centralized systems to single points of failure. Experts suggest the outage highlights the need for exploring more decentralized alternatives to enhance resilience. Decentralized cloud services such as Filecoin and Akash Network are presented as potential solutions.
