Branding your company's Teams meetings and calls with frosted glass effects
Microsoft Teams has introduced a new feature called frosted glass background effect, which allows users to brand their meetings and calls in a professional and visually appealing way. This feature enables users to upload individual frosted glass backgrounds, while Teams Premium administrators can upload backgrounds for their organization and assign them to different teams based on customization policies. The frosted glass effect can be achieved by turning any transparent PNG background image into a frosted glass background, adding a touch of elegance and making logos stand out. Users can strategically place their logos anywhere on the transparent background to enhance visibility and customize the look and feel of their Teams calls. The frosted glass effect creates a more natural look where the person and background share lighting conditions, unlike non-transparent backgrounds which can look jarring if the lighting conditions differ. Meeting participants can also turn on the "adjust brightness" filter in Teams video settings to further enhance their video appearance. Different teams within an organization can have different frosted glass backgrounds, allowing each team to have a unique identity while maintaining a cohesive overall brand. Teams admins can enforce the use of specific background effects by marking a background as required in the Teams Admin Center, ensuring consistency across all Teams calls. To achieve the best results, users should use a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels, avoid full opacity, and apply a Gaussian blur to simulate depth of field. Users can get started with frosted glass backgrounds by following the instructions on the Microsoft Teams support page or by checking with their IT admin about acquiring a Microsoft Teams Premium license.
