Brave Browser Blocks Microsoft Recall By Default

Brave Browser is now blocking Microsoft Recall by default for all Windows 11+ users, protecting their browsing data. This action prevents Recall, a screenshot-logging feature, from capturing any Brave tabs, including those not in private mode. Brave made this decision due to significant privacy concerns and potential misuse of the feature. Microsoft has modified Recall in response to initial criticism, yet it is still in preview with a wider rollout planned. The final form of Recall remains uncertain, leading to a lack of user confidence. Brave emphasizes its dedication to privacy-maximizing defaults, especially concerning sensitive browsing histories. Because of the risks, Brave has proactively disabled Recall for all Brave tabs.
