Bringing our latest frontier model to Android Developers

Android engineering is advancing into agentic development, enabling agents to execute end-to-end tasks under developer direction. Gemini 4 Argon is now available to Android developers, excelling in complex real-world tasks across various domains. Developers can access Argon through Google Antigravity and Android Studio Canary for Google AI Ultra subscribers, or via the Gemini API's paid tier in Android Studio and Google AI Studio. Argon features improved autonomous execution for long-horizon, multi-step software tasks. It also introduces self-healing build loops that diagnose and fix build failures using error logs. The model demonstrates sophisticated UI development, generating production-ready Jetpack Compose code and AGSL shaders for advanced graphics. A flexible developer experience is provided through the Android CLI plugin, connecting agents to local Android tools. Access to Argon can be set up visually in the Antigravity Desktop App or Android Studio Canary. Alternatively, users can configure it via the terminal CLI by installing the android-cli-plugin. Argon is rolling out globally, with access points including Google Antigravity, Android Studio, and Google AI Studio. Firebase AI Logic also supports Argon for building intelligent features in mobile and web applications. Developers need a Google AI Ultra subscription or to be on the paid Gemini API tier to start building with Argon.
