Can I freeze sushi rice?

My daughter loves sushi in her lunch box, but I only do it occasionally as it’s such a pain cooking then cooling the rice for a relatively small amount. Could I cook a big batch, freeze portions, and defrost those to use? I’m asking both practically (will it be sticky and taste good) and for safety (chance of it making her sick) TIA! submitted by /u/Upsidedown0310
