Andean Medjedovic, a Canadian math prodigy, is accused of stealing over $65 million from DeFi platforms. He allegedly exploited vulnerabilities in the platforms' code to siphon funds. Indexed Finance offered him a deal to return most of the funds as a "bug bounty," but he refused. Medjedovic embraced the "Code is Law" philosophy, believing his actions were legal. He went into hiding after the first exploit, moving out of his parents' home. He then allegedly performed a similar, larger exploit on another platform. U.S. authorities have charged him with wire fraud, attempted extortion, and money laundering. If convicted, he faces a long prison sentence, but his current location is unknown. He has evaded capture by moving internationally.
