Celeb stylist Law Roach launches School of Style online-learning platform

Law Roach, a celebrity stylist, announced his retirement from styling in March 2023, but has now launched an online learning platform called School of Style to help aspiring stylists navigate the fashion industry. Roach will serve as chief creative officer for the platform, which aims to make the industry more accessible and practical. The original School of Style, founded in 2008, was a two-day in-person course that cost $5,000, but Roach and his business partner Kent Belden have revamped the curriculum to make it more affordable and accessible. The new program is six weeks long and online, with a tuition fee of $2,500, and will connect students with real-world experts and provide classes on styling, finances, branding, and social media presence. At the end of the program, graduates will be set up with a job interview with Belden's talent agency, which represents stylists, makeup artists, and nail artists. Roach hopes to help aspiring stylists get their start in the industry, which he found difficult to break into himself. The program aims to provide a gateway to the industry and a pathway to career placements and opportunities. Enrollment will open in November, with the first cohort of students starting in January 2025. Roach wants to share his career experience and help others avoid the mistakes he made, such as not saving for taxes. He hopes to help people get past the "velvet ropes" and into the fashion industry.
